Pumps,

 Let it Flow..

The  Dolphin Silent Sea 800, of coarse titanium..  800 gph, but I figured with total head ft about 520 /hr It's hiding, My Iwaki MD30RLT, powers my E.T.S 500 Skimmer
The flow masters, The Silent sea re-circulates, and the Iwaki runs the skimmer. And, of coarse the cooling.  I have a 4" fan cooling these work-aholics

My work hoarses..

I had to redo  my circulation.  At first I had a pond master 700, after checking the flow charts I was only cycling about 320 GPH. Ouch!!  it cycled the tank only about 4 times an hour.  I also moved my UPS, and lighting control system from underneath the tank, to the other side of the wall.  I think these guys were adding a lot of unnecessary heat to the tank, and WILL not fit with my new configuration.

So, " I re-wired it..." (you know Tim Allen).  Any how I have a silent sea 800 Titanium, and an IwakiMD30RLT to power my skimmer.

My Dolphin Silent Sea 800 scared me the first night, the tank went up to about 82.0 degrees at 3:00am, with out any lights on to add to the heat ouch!  I then found out when I did the massive over haul on the bottom of the tank, my heater decided to kick on all night.  I was worried that the Silent Sea was transferring to much heat to the water (these pumps transfer about 100 watts to the water to cool them selves, they do not have ANY internal cooling fans).  This guy is so quiet, the only noise I hear is  the water returning to the over-flow.

And, my Iwaki MD30RLT, It powers my E.T.S 500 Evolution skimmer. This guy runs pretty quiet also, but not as quiet as the Dolphin SS.  It moves about 520 gph through the skimmer.   I had to setup a 4" cooling fan between the two pumps to keep their cases cool, and not to transfer much heat to the water.
