My E.T.S.S 500 skimmer.
This guy collects at least a collection cup a day. I used to have a Oceanaic Model 4 skimmer... WAY UNDER POWERED!!!( as seen in the lower right hand corner) I started doing the math, and yeahh..... I was skimming about 120 GPH, when the re-circulation pump was doing about 420 GPH. Now, I have the Iwaki, and it cycles about 520-620 gallons per an hour, almost a match to the Dolphin SS 800. I had to set up the intake specially in the sump, I have it collecting the water from the Wet/Dry side, and then dumping into the re-circulation side. I separate the chambers with a sponge. But it keeps my water crystal clear!
